GTA 6s Netflix Special Is Over 20 Minutes Long And Was Captured On A PS5

Grand Theft Auto 6 GTA 6 Netflix Rockstar Games
Grand Theft Auto 6 s Extended Look gameplay reveal debuts exclusively later today on Netflix. And while we still dont know what will be in the special video beyond our first (official) look at GTA 6 gameplay, we at least know that the Extended Look is nearly half an hour long and was captured entirely from the game running on PlayStation 5.
As spotted by many people online, including GTA dataminer Tex on Twitter, some versions of the Netflix app are now showing that the GTA 6 special will have a 26-minute runtime. Thats much longer than I expected for this kind of gameplay reveal and hopefully means Rockstar is ready, after over a decade of making fans wait, to really show off Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of its November 19 launch.
This seems to indicate that perhaps Rockstar isnt going to do a whole series of shorter GTA 6 gameplay videos, as the company has done in the past with Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption . Instead, fans will get one long half-hour gameplay reveal before the wait until November.
I can confirm on mobile. #GTAVI Netflix reveal is 26 minutes long. https://t.co/FzuLmOInGB
On Thursday, Netflix also published a press release about the GTA 6 special that provided a few more details. Most interestingly, Netflix says that all of the footage fans will see later today in the Extended Look was captured on a PlayStation 5.
Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5, this extended look at the next Grand Theft Auto showcases the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet, said Netflix.
Some online are assuming this means that the Extended Look will feature footage of GTA 6 running on a base PS5, which is certainly possible. But I also feel like Netflix could just be referring to the platform in a more general sense and didnt include the detail of it being on a PS5 Pro. Or maybe Rockstar wants to prove the game really looks this good on a platform most people already own. Ive pinged Rockstar Games for clarity, but I suspect the actual G TA 6 extended look video will include a bit of text specifying base PS5 or PS5 Pro.
When Can I Watch The GTA 6 Extended Look?
The GTA 6 Extended Look will first premiere on Netflix on August 27 at 3 p.m. EST. It will be available around the world, according to Netflix.
Then, after six hours, the extended look will be made available on YouTube and other platforms for free. Heres when you can watch GTA 6 Extended Look gameplay reveal on Netflix and YouTube, based on which time zone in the United States you reside in:
Eastern Time Zone NYC
Central Time Zone KC
Mountain Time Zone Denver
Pacific Time Zone LA
Rockstar says fans and creators will be able to share clips and moments from the Netflix reveal , but wont be allowed to upload the full 26-minute Extended Look to their platforms or channels unedited or without commentary.
This big reveal has been somewhat spoiled by the fact that, over the last two weeks, a hacker or leaker has been sharing clips of GTA 6 gameplay online and has already given many fans their first taste of what the upcoming game will look like in action. Rockstar called the leaks heartbreaking and apologized to fans for making them wait so long to see more of the game.
