Rockstar Games Hasn’t Posted Anything Online In 48 Hours As GTA 6 Leaks Keep Getting Worse

On Tuesday afternoon, leaked footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 began spreading across the internet courtesy of a person or group known as Cyberleek. Since then, Rockstar Games has remained completely radio silent across all platforms as fans continue to share and debate the gameplay leaks.
On August 20 at 10 a.m. EST, the Rockstar Games Twitter account didnt post anything. This is a bit peculiar, as the account often posts something on Tuesdays at that time. You can scroll through months of posts to see this pattern. It is so predictable that fans often joke about it in the comments below because they want more GTA 6 info, but instead get posts about GTA Online events or Red Dead Online weekly bonuses. But on the first Thursday following multiple GTA 6 leaks , Rockstar hasnt posted anything on Twitter. The last post remains a tweet about bonus cash and XP in certain RDO missions.

This complete radio silence extends to Rockstars other online accounts, including the studios official Instagram account and the companys Discord server. Over on the official Rockstar Games website, the company hasnt updated its newswire section at all since August 14 . For the last 48 hours, Rockstar Games has not addressed any of the leaks, nor has it even communicated with fans or press about the situation. Kotaku has pinged Rockstar Games a few times over the last two days and has yet to receive a response.
It isnt surprising that Rockstar Games has decided to go radio silent right now. The company, as well as Take-Two Interactive, is likely preoccupied with the ongoing GTA 6 gameplay leaks from Cyberleek. The hacker/leaker just shared another clip this morning, this time featuring leek being written in bullets on a wall, and is promising to leak even more GTA 6 footage in the near future. C yberleek has also taunted Rockstar Games by including a clip from a cutscene that features a character claiming to be untraceable due to their use of a VPN.
For Rockstar Games, this is a nightmare situation, and I imagine that posting about RDO or GTA Online events right now isnt a top priority. Of course, Rockstar is also getting ready to ship the most anticipated game in decades this November. So eventually, it will have to start posting again. But when and what its first message to fans will be following these leaks remains to be seen.
